As confirmed by parent company Koch Media to Develop , Cursed Mountain developer Deep Silver Vienna has apparently been closed. Citing “the overall economic situation” and noting “this decision is not easy for us,” the 20-person staff was recently cut and told they would receive pay through the end of March. Develop posits that the studio’s other game — Ride to Hell — will likely remain unaffected by the shutdown, as UK dev house Eutechnyx is handling development and Koch Media’s Munich offices will oversee the game’s management

Sure, you could take Bungie’s latest foray into Mythbusters territory as full on confirmation of Halo: Reach not having Project Natal support, or you could be like us and remain skeptical of the developers still-not-straightforward wording. In a recent post on Bungie.net , the company attempted to answer a mess of “myths” about its upcoming Halo game, including “Myth: Reach is being built for Natal!” In answering, the post states, ” Halo: Reach is NOT a Natal title and is being developed expressly with the traditional Xbox 360 controller in mind.” That said, rather than outright saying, “No, there’s no support for Project Natal in Halo: Reach ,” Bungie instead chose to loosely word the answer

We’ve been wondering why it’s taken Square Enix so long to churn out another installment in the core Final Fantasy franchise, seeing as how the last game came out approximately forever ago . The answer recently came in the latest Dutch issue of Official PlayStation Magazine, which contains a revealing interview with Squeenix’s Yoshinori Kitase. In a recent interview with the New York Times , Dante’s Inferno executive producer Jonathan Knight responded curiously to a query about the possibility of upcoming adaptations of the other two installments in the Divine Comedy , Purgatorio and Paradiso . According to the Times, “Knight said his team was focused on the release of Dante’s Inferno as well as on additional downloadable content for that game,” though he later confessed “I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about that.” We think Visceral’s missing out on a great chance to kill two birds with one stone — why not make Purgatorio and Paradiso DLC packs for Inferno

We’ve already heard from Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata on Apple’s most recent handheld (spoilers: he doesn’t care about it), but the Wall Street Journal recently asked Sony’s John Koller how his company’s reacting to the device. Rather than outright dismissing it like the Nintendo prez, though, he said he’s looking to the iPad for boosted PSP sales. Seriously .

Alright, alright, you kind of already knew about the giant blue dragon in the upcoming Dragon Age: Origins ‘ Awakening ‘ expansion pack , but you hadn’t seen her (yes, her) in all her rage-filled majesty, scaring the crap out of those venturing into Blackmarsh. Between her and Skeletor , we’re getting pretty psyched for March’s DA:O content infusion. Sure, there’s that other BioWare RPG that we’re obsessively playing for now, but how long will that last before we feel the urge to venture back into the fantasy realm?

Since January 20, the team at Behemoth have been raising money through Xbox Live DLC sales of Castle Crashers and Alien Hominid to support relief efforts in Haiti. Over four days, Behemoth has collected $15,585.65 through DLC purchases; however, since the promise was to donate 200% of all DLC sales, The Behemoth has matched the total leaving the donation jar filled with $31,171.29! That’s great, but for The Behemoth it isn’t great enough.

February’s Japanese Virtual Console lineup is exceptionally small — four games in all — but all four games are high-quality. In advance of Mega Man 10 , Capcom offers Mega Man 4 , which, while one of the weaker games in the series, is still a real Mega Man game and thus pretty good. A never-localized (and probably still not to be localized) SNES Advance Wars game will be available sometime in the month, and MSX versions of the familiar Contra and the delightful scrolling puzzle game Quarth
