First PS3 3D game updates available in Japan on June 10

Sony Japan has announced the first games to be updated for 3D in that region — a set of games corresponding to those included with Sony Europe’s Bravia promotion . Super Stardust HD , Pain , and WipeOut HD will all be patched to support 3D for those in Japan with fancy enough TVs on June 10.

With the arrival of the new Wii bundles containing both Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort , it was only a matter of time before some retailer started discounting the old non- Resort package. Now sports fans will get to see Activision’s weird-looking Little League World Series characters in high definition! The last two iterations of the kid-friendly baseball franchise have been exclusive to Wii and DS, but Activision has announced Little League World Series Baseball 2010 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. “We felt it was time to finally bring the popular Little League series to gamers playing Xbox 360 and PlayStation(R)3,” Activision Publishing’s David Oxford said. ” Little League(R) World Series Baseball 2010 is visually stunning and packed with tons of new content, while remaining an accessible pick-up-and-play game for the whole family.” Apparently, Activision also felt it was time to stop bringing the popular franchise to Wii and DS, as there is no mention at all of any version of the game other than the Xbox 360 and PS3

Canoe.ca , the web home of Canadian newspaper publisher QMI Agency, has revealed a new Wii hockey game on the way from EA, called NHL Slapshot . This new game has two distinguishing features: first, it is controlled with a scaled-down hockey stick peripheral, into which the Wiimote and Nunchuk are placed; second, it features the likeness of Wayne Gretzky, the retired NHL star so famous that even non-Canadians have heard of him
