The Mirror’s Edge and Battlefield franchises are related through more than developer-publisher relations — they’re poised to share digital DNA. If it is made, a sequel to Mirror’s Edge may use Battlefield 3 ’s Frostbite 2 engine, according to Official PlayStation Magazine, which writes, “The Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return.” We don’t know much more about the potential sequel or OPM’s “inside whispers,” besides the fact that Mirror’s Edge is an ” important franchise ” to EA. We may have to wait until EA and DICE stop coddling Battlefield 3 for confirmation of another game or details about its engine.

As any veteran fighter knows, a large part of what makes a Tekken game feel like a Tekken game is punching and/or getting punched by a bear. To be honest, we’ve been worried that this subtle nuance might have been lost on Capcom, as Street Fighter X Tekken ’s ever-growing character roster continues to feature zero bears. The TimeSplitters series isn’t done monkeying around yet — Crytek UK may be announcing TimeSplitters 4 soon, as noted in the August edition of Official PlayStation Magazine UK’s “Rumor Machine” section. The rumor reads, “Gun-wielding monkeys are finally making a comeback! A fourth Timesplitters title is to be announced soon.” This seems pretty straight-forward, and Crytek UK has previously suggested a new TimeSplitters title after the release of Crysis 2 , so we’re thinking this could be truer than a complete lie, but we’re still keeping our bananas in our pants for now. Rumor: TimeSplitters 4 may be announced soon originally appeared on Joystiq on Sun, 31 Jul 2011 13:30:00 EST.

A humble, respected, understated man, Hibiki is most well known for founding the Saikyo-ryu school of martial arts.
